MASSH Super Speciality Hospitals, in association with IMA - South Delhi, hosted the first-of-its-kind Live 3D Laparoscopy Workshop on 23rd February 2024. This groundbreaking event brought together leading surgeons, doctors, and medical professionals to witness the transformative impact of 3D technology in laparoscopic surgery.
The workshop commenced with a live 3D Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy performed by Dr. Sachin Ambekar, Director of Minimal Access Surgery and Medical Director at MASSH. The live surgery allowed attendees to experience the enhanced depth perception and precision that 3D technology brings, offering a clear contrast to traditional 2D laparoscopic techniques. Through specialized 3D glasses, the participants observed the real-time benefits of this technology, such as improved surgical control, reduced anesthesia time, and shorter procedure durations, all contributing to safer outcomes.
This event was designed to maximize interactive learning for doctors from across Delhi who engaged in a live Q&A session with Dr. Sachin Ambekar, who was operating in the OT, providing a unique opportunity to discuss the nuances of 3D laparoscopy in real time.
Following the surgery, Dr. Sachin Ambekar joined the attendees at the Rooftop Cafe, where he delved deeper into how 3D laparoscopy represents a new dimension in the operating room. He highlighted the numerous advantages, including paramount safety, superior depth perception, shorter hospital stays, and fewer complications. Dr. Ambekar also distinguished between 3D laparoscopy and robotic surgery, emphasizing the clear benefits of 3D technology in terms of patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
The attendees also viewed testimonials of patients at MASSH and the highlights of international experts who praised the effectiveness of 3D technology in enhancing surgical precision.
The workshop concluded with a cocktail dinner where doctors exchanged insights and shared their opinions on this revolutionary approach. The event marked a significant milestone for MASSH in pioneering the future of surgery, demonstrating a commitment to continuous medical innovation and education.
